Codi Ford will be on the ballot November 6 as an independent candidate for Morgan County Commissioner.
Ford will face off against Republican Sean Forney – who defeated Commissioner Bob Ford in the May Primary – and former Morgan County Commissioner Democratic candidate Stacy Schultz.
Ford is the municipal court clerk for the Town of Bath and a bartender at the Troubadour in Berkeley Springs.
Ford has helped organize the yearly Town of Bath Winterfest Christmas parade and is a caretaker at the Greenway Cemetery.
Ford met the August 1 filing deadline by collecting and submitting to the County Clerk more than the required 65 signatures of registered voters in Morgan County and paying a filing fee of $399.17 (one percent of a Commissioner’s yearly salary) to get her name onto the November ballot.
Ford becomes the third candidate to enter the November political campaign as an independent in Morgan County.
Frankfort High School teacher Jason Armentrout is running as an independent against Republican Senator Charles Trump. There is no Democrat in that race.
And Brooks McCumbee will be on the ballot as an independent in the race against House of Delegates Majority Leader Republican Daryl Cowles and Democrat Bibi Hahn.
