Ku Klux Klan (KKK) flyers are being distributed in southern Morgan County, West Virginia.
Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer says that in the past week, he has received more than two dozen complaints from residents of south Morgan County about KKK flyers being distributed at Cacapon South, along Oakland Road, and up and down US Route 522.
Sheriff Bohrer says the leaflets, titled – The Cost of the Jews’ Open Border Policy – are being put in sandwich bags, weighed down with bird seed and tossed onto properties.
Sheriff Bohrer says that the leaflets were also tossed onto his property and the property of his parents in south Morgan.
“Many reports have came in today about KKK literature being distributed in the area,” Sheriff Bohrer said on Facebook November 4, 2018. “In fact I received one also. This happens from time to time all over the the country. If anyone sees a vehicle or obtains a tag number please report it to us. Best thing to do is throw away and give no credit to this.”
“We know of no local KKK organization,” Sheriff Bohrer told Morgan County USA. “There used to be a contingent of the Klan in Hancock, Maryland, but that was many years back. We don’t have any intelligence about a local organization or any cause for concern – other than these leaflets being distributed.”
A similar flurry of reports of KKK leaflets being distributed were received earlier this year from residents in western Morgan County, Chief Bohrer said.
