Magpie and Ukuleles in Hancock Sunday to Benefit Big Cove Creek Alliance

A concert to benefit the Big Cove Creek Alliance will take place Sunday August 21 at 6:30 at Hancock Town Hall.

magpie The concert features Magpie, an award winning Washington area folk duo known for their “two strong voices in harmony and superb instrumental arrangements” playing traditional and vintage American music as well as contemporary and stirring original compositions since 1973.

They will be joined by Tri State Ukeclectic Orchestra, a multi-generational ukulele band established in 2015 known for it’s creative use of the Ukulele in music not usually associated with the tiny instrument.

Big Cove Creek Alliance is a local environmental group working to protect the land, air and water quality of our beautiful Tri State area and promote healthy and sustainable farming practices.

The alliance is currently confronting a proposed factory farm to be located just above Big Cove Creek in Fulton County Pennsylvania.

The pristine creek feeds into Licking Creek, the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay.

Admission to this event is free but any donations will help support the Big Cove Creek Alliance.
