Signs saying “Just Say No to Clinton Trump” were on display at Berkeley Springs State Park.
The signs are part of a new civic mobilization against the Presidential candidacies of Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.
Polls show that both candidates have very high negatives and that the majority of Americans oppose their candidacies.
“People were stopping to ask — who can we vote for if not them?” said Russell Mokhiber who is organizing a month long civic drive at the state park.
“The answer is of course — third party candidates. There are legitimate third party candidates — like Libertarian and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein,” Mokhiber said. “Or you can just write in another candidate.”
“You don’t have to vote for candidates who represent the corporate machine,” he said. “Same holds true for the West Virginia Governor’s race. Both Democrat Jim Justice and Republican Bill Cole represent the major corporate interests in the state. There are third party candidates for Governor on the ballot in West Virginia — including one who stands for a renewable energy future and against the fossil fuels industry. That’s Mountain Party candidate Charlotte Pritt.”
