Sean Forney has purchased the Sheetz property at the corner of US 522 and Rt. 9 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
Forney told Morgan County USA that he plans on renovating the building and moving his insurance business – RWR WV Insurance – to the location.
Forney recently purchased the Star Theater and renovated it.
“The guts of the old Sheetz building are solid – brick on steel,” Forney said. “I assumed since it was the prime commercial real estate location in town that somebody would have jumped on it right away. It has a great parking lot. It’s out of the flood plain. It has a lot going for it.”
Forney said that the old Sheetz building is about 2,800 square feet. He intends to take 1,600 square feet for his business and lease out the other 1,200 square to a tenant – “ideally someone who fits well with an insurance agency – a financial services company or something along those lines.”
Forney currently has four employees, but he hopes to grow his business to 20 to 30 employees. He’s looking to hire a few more employees over the next couple of months. And he’s outgrowing his current location – next to Skeeter’s Auto Body.”
Forney’s insurance business is primarily commercial insurance – loss control, safety, OSHA compliance, DOT compliance.
RWR WV is the West Virginia affiliate of Reed, Wertz and Roadman Insurance in Bedford, Pennsylania – that’s where Forney started in the business.
