The show, called “In a Coffee House Mood,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25 in the Hancock Performing Arts Center at Hancock Town Hall.

“People talked about last year’s Music from the Coffee House program for weeks afterwards,” said John Douglas, who is collaborating with Mike Kligerman to put together the evening. “We felt we only scratched the surface of the folk music scene of 50 years ago with that one.”

Featured will be tunes from the songbooks of Bob Dylan, Ian & Sylvia, Leonard Cohen, Mississippi John Hurt, Dave Van Ronk, Maria Muldaur, John Denver and others who performed in the folk clubs of the time.

“Every number will be different from last year, and we’ve enlisted some new singers, too,” said Kligerman.

Performers include Mary Hott, the Shifters, Pete Gordon, Angela Petry, Bethany Bowman, Sinclair Hamilton, Bob Wurster, Jeannie Ward, Vince Romano, Jim Nichols and Philip Clifford.

The show will also mark the debut of the High Water Jug Band.

“In a Coffee House Mood” is sponsored by the Hancock Arts Council. Admission is free and doors will open at 7 p.m.
