Dexter’s Laburgertory Coming to Berkeley Springs

Dexter’s Laburgertory, a burger and pizza joint, is coming to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Dexter’s is planning on opening toward the end of January in the building that housed the old Earth Dog restaurant.

The owner and operator is Dave Kipp, who moved to Great Cacapon two years ago from Hanover, Pennsylvania where he owned and operated a construction firm. He sold the construction company to start Dexter’s. His family has lived in Great Cacapon for about twenty years.

Kipp said Dexter’s Laburgertory is named after his dog Dexter with a nod to the animated television series Dexter’s Laboratory.

Kipp has already hired four people and is looking to hire ten more or so at about $12.50 an hour.

Dexter’s will be open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be four pool tables and a bar.

Dexter’s will have two delivery vehicles for free delivery in town and free delivery to some areas outside of Berkeley Springs, including Great Cacapon, for orders over $50.

The kitchen will have a specialty oven to bake jumbo 36 inch pizzas that serve 25.

On the extensive menu will be all kinds of burgers, pizzas, prime rib and sirloin cheesesteaks and salads.

Kipp is planning on karaoke a couple times a month, 60s and 70s dance nights with DJs, and live music, including at an outdoor venue in the back.

He’s hoping to have around twenty parking places.
