Tree Down Leaves 1700 Potomac Edison Customers Without Electricity

A tree down on Valley Road (US 522) near Luther Michael Road about eight miles south of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia left about 1,700 customers without power from about 12:24 to 2:05 today.

Electricity was knocked out up and down Valley Road in southern Morgan County, including at Cacapon State Park and at the Exxon.

Potomac Edison spokesman Will Boye said the cause was a fallen tree on Valley Road.

Traffic backed up for a half mile on Valley Road as seven Potomac Edison trucks addressed the situation.
