Flashbacks Benefit Concert for Berkeley Springs State Park Saturday

Local rock-retro band The Flashbacks will perform a benefit Concert in the Park for the Berkeley Springs State Park Historical Foundation this Saturday, August 31, at 5:30.

The concert is open to the public, with donations encouraged to help the Foundation in its Save Our Park campaign.

The Flashbacks perform an energetic, eclectic mix of oldies, classic and rock from the 50’s through the 80’s. Mixing old and newer styles, this band pleases crowds of all ages with good-time music that makes you want to get up and dance.

The Flashbacks have played at festivals, clubs, and other events throughout the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The Save Our Park campaign is a drive to raise funds for much needed improvements and repairs in Berkeley Springs State Park. These include restoring the deteriorated stone walls that line Warm Springs Run inside the Park, replacing crumbling concrete and asphalt walkways, and redesigning the pedestrian bridges to enhance the historical beauty of the Park and to help minimize damage during flood events.

The Foundation has been awarded federal grants for the improvements project but must finish the job of raising matching funds.

The Flashbacks’ Concert for the Park will take place in front of George Washington’s bathtub. Rain location is the Berkeley Springs High School Auditorium, but Saturday is expected to be beautiful late summer-early fall weather suited to great music and good times.
