Remember the coffee houses and folk singers of the 1960s?
Those songs still ring in the heads of countless folks, including many too young to have been there.
The spirit of those days will return in “Carry It On,” the latest musical evening from the Hancock Arts Council.
The free show begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, in the Hancock Performing Arts Center (Hancock Town Hall).
Subtitled “Music from the Coffee House,” the focus will be on songs written and originally performed by the likes of Tom Paxton, Joni Mitchell, Ian & Sylvia, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon and Pete Seeger.
Featured are singers and musicians from Berkeley Springs and Hancock, including Mary Hott, Judy Youngblood, Bob Wurster, Philip Clifford, Sinclair Hamilton, Vince Romano, Will Lotts, Ryland Swain, Hannah Salman, and Angela Petry.
“Carry It On” is produced by John Douglas and Mike Kligerman, who previously put together the Hank Williams and Woody Guthrie shows for the Hancock Arts Council.
