The Ed Rabel for Congress campaign today released its first radio ad.
The ad will run over the next couple of weeks on radio station WDHC in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
Rabel is running as an independent for Congress in West Virginia’s second Congressional district.
His opponents are the Democrat Nick Casey and the Republican Alex Mooney.
In the ad, Rabel says that both Casey and Mooney “are siding with the polluting corporations over the people of West Virginia.”
“I grew up near Rabel Mountain right here in West Virginia, a beautiful state where clean water, majestic mountains, hunting, fishing and recreation are legendary,” Rabel says.
“But that beauty — and the health and well being of the people of this state — is being destroyed by giant out of state corporations that control the Democratic and Republican parties.”
“That’s why I’m calling for a moratorium on mountaintop removal and fracking.”
The race’s first poll put Rabel at 10 percent, a remarkable number for an Independent this early in the race.
“That 10 percent reflects a real disgust with West Virginia’s two corporate parties,” Rabel says.
