A number of area singers and musicians from the Hancock and Berkeley Springs area will be performing in a tribute to Hank Williams this Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event — “Celebrating Hank” — is sponsored by the Hancock Arts Council.<\/span><\/p>\n

The free show will take place at the Hancock Performing Arts Center, in Hancock Town Hall, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13 \u2013 just four days before what would have been Hank Sr.\u2019s 90th birthday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Considered by many to be the greatest singer-songwriter in Country Music history, Williams wrote and performed such tunes as \u201cYour Cheatin\u2019 Heart,\u201d \u201cJambalaya,\u201d \u201cYou Win Again\u201d and \u201cHey, Good Lookin\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCelebrating Hank\u201d is the latest of the Hancock Arts Council\u2019s tributes to influential American singers. <\/span><\/p>\n

Previous evenings honored Elvis Presley and Woody Guthrie. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Hank Williams show is being produced for the arts council by John Douglas and Mike Kligerman.<\/span><\/p>\n

Singers include Alyse and Aubrey Hoffmann, Judy Youngblood, Kate Evans, Angela Petry, Sinclair Hamilton, Carolyn Kligerman and Elaini Arthur with Donnie McCusker. <\/span><\/p>\n

The show will feature a house band with Mike Kligerman, Vince Romano, Bob Wurster and Richard Hopkins.<\/span><\/p>\n
