The state of West Virginia has decided not to move forward with plans to consider Blue Water\u2019s contested 350 spot RV park proposed for Cacapon State Park in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n

The cancellation comes on the heels of widespread opposition to the proposal.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI talked to (West Virginia Commerce Secretary) James Bailey a little while ago today, who told me that the WV Department of Commerce, WV DNR (West Virginia Division of Natural Resources) and  WV Parks have decided not to proceed forward with any of the proposals for RVs at Cacapon that were submitted in response to the RFP that the State put out some months ago,\u201d wrote Senator Charles Trump (R-Morgan) in an email earlier today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commerce Department put out a press release today calling for input from the public on how to move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThose who want to provide the WVDNR with ideas for camping or additional recreational amenities at Cacapon Resort State Park and other parks are invited to take the online survey at WVstateparks.com\/survey<\/a>,\u201d the statement said. \u201cThe survey will remain open for 30 days and everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a random drawing for a free two-night stay at the state park of the winner\u2019s choosing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a result of the decision to seek further public input, none of the proposals for camping facilities received in response to the WVDNR’s December 2022 request for proposals will be selected for implementation,\u201d the statement said. \u201cThe WVDNR will consider future projects in light of the public comments received.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
