They are unsure about their plans post-renovation for downstairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe core of the building is over 100 years old,\u201d Jeff DuVal said. \u201cIt\u2019s been added onto and maintained at various levels over many years. We\u2019re going to replace the decks, the windows, the doors and the siding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He says that upstairs now has one very large apartment and the plan is to split it into two one bedroom apartments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thinking about food options for the downstairs,\u201d DuVal said. \u201cBut we haven\u2019t decided yet what it\u2019s going to be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DuVals were weekenders from northern Virginia for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have owned a home in Great Cacapon for nine years \u2013 and got married there seven years ago,\u201d Sam says.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5594\" width=\"298\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/jeff-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe started spending more and more time here and finally decided \u2013 this is where we want to own a business.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They purchased two cabins in Great Cacapon near their home and turned it into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camppotomacpeak.com\/\">Camp Potomac Peak.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe purchased the property in March of 2020,\u201d Sam DuVal said. \u201cWe spent 12 to 18 months doing significant renovations. The first cabin opened in September 2021 and then the second one opened in April 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going really well. Occupancy rates are very high.
