Periodically, as a public service, Morgan County USA<\/em> will be presenting things to know about local politics in Berkeley Springs and Morgan County, West Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today \u2013 Morgan County\u2019s Thirteen Voting Precincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thirteen voting precincts are \u2013 Warm Springs Middle (1), Warm Springs Middle (2), Warm Springs Intermediate, Widmyer Elementary, Berkeley Springs High School Gym, Morgan County Courthouse, School Board, Great Cacapon Elementary, Paw Paw Elementary, Love Assembly of God, Pleasant View Elementary, South Morgan Fire Department and Cacapon State Park Bathhouse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(The bathhouse at Cacapon State Park could be the most beautiful voting location in the state.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s important to know where we vote, so we can go to our voting places and vote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the heavy turnout for the election in November 2020, only 58 percent (8,318) of registered Morgan County voters (14,367) voted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s also important to know your fellow citizens’ political tendencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, in the Republican primary on June 9, 2020, in the race for Morgan County Sheriff, Vince Shambaugh defeated KC Bohrer in the Paw Paw precinct 93 to 42. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in the Cacapon State Park precinct, Bohrer defeated Shambaugh 204 to 83. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bohrer ended up winning the contest by fewer than 100 votes — 1,940 to 1,843.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The West Virginia Secretary of State has put up a look up tool so you can search your registration and polling place. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And they have put up a tool to register to vote or to change your registration online.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\tAll politics is local. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
