Harden, held the House of Delegates seat from Morgan County for a number of terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What made Tom Harden want to run for House of Delegates against current Delegates Daryl Cowles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just fed up with the people out there that aren\u2019t doing anything for us, the people here,\u201d Harden told This Week in Morgan County in an interview earlier this month. \u201cTheir agenda isn\u2019t for us. There are so many things that need to be fixed that aren\u2019t getting done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harden says that many of his fellow workers support his run for House of Delegates because \u201cI\u2019m a hard worker, I\u2019m honest and I\u2019ll do right by us.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to take any crap, I\u2019m going to kick some butt and work for the people,\u201d Harden said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harden says that workers in the area, including teachers and state workers, are underpaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey need more money,\u201d Harden said. \u201cAnd if you give them more money, our economy will be better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harden said that people in Morgan County will know him as Terry T. Harden\u2019s son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe got things done,\u201d Harden said. \u201cWe can thank him for branch banking. He helped get funding for the Apple Butter Festival to get it started. Lifetime hunting licenses. He helped sponsor those bills.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for Daryl Cowles, the current delegate from the 58th District, Harden says \u2013 \u201che\u2019s lost touch with the people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s being backed by the wrong people,\u201d Harden said. \u201cIf you go in and look up who has been donating to his cause, it\u2019s mostly companies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have any of that. I\u2019ve been working off a shoestring budget.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the interview and since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Harden has posted a statement on his <a href=\"https:\/\/tomhardenwvhouse.com\/\">campaign web page.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am asking each one of you to reach out to your neighbors and check on them,\u201d Harden writes.\u201cIt\u2019s not about who has the most toilet paper it\u2019s about each and everyone of us surviving this pandemic. People may be quarantined and run out of medicine or food, I challenge each and everyone to help your family, friends, and neighbors.
