Local rock-retro band The Flashbacks will perform a benefit Concert in\u00a0<\/span>the Park for the Berkeley Springs State Park Historical Foundation this Saturday,\u00a0<\/span>August 31, at 5:30.<\/span><\/p>\n

The concert is open to the public, with donations encouraged to\u00a0<\/span>help the Foundation in its Save Our Park campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Flashbacks perform an energetic, eclectic mix of oldies, classic and rock<\/span>\u00a0from the 50\u2019s through the 80\u2019s. Mixing old and newer styles, this\u00a0<\/span>band pleases crowds of all ages with good-time music that makes you want to get\u00a0<\/span>up and dance. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Flashbacks have played at festivals, clubs, and other events\u00a0<\/span>throughout the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and\u00a0<\/span>Virginia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Save Our Park campaign is a drive to raise funds for much needed\u00a0<\/span>improvements and repairs in Berkeley Springs State Park. These include restoring\u00a0<\/span>the deteriorated stone walls that line Warm Springs Run inside the Park, replacing\u00a0<\/span>crumbling concrete and asphalt walkways, and redesigning the pedestrian bridges\u00a0<\/span>to enhance the historical beauty of the Park and to help minimize damage during\u00a0<\/span>flood events. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Foundation has been awarded federal grants for the\u00a0<\/span>improvements project but must finish the job of raising matching funds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Flashbacks\u2019 Concert for the Park will take place in front of George\u00a0<\/span>Washington\u2019s bathtub. Rain location is the Berkeley Springs High School\u00a0<\/span>Auditorium, but Saturday is expected to be beautiful late summer-early fall\u00a0<\/span>weather suited to great music and good times.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
