{"id":3205,"date":"2018-01-25T18:14:58","date_gmt":"2018-01-25T23:14:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=3205"},"modified":"2018-01-28T15:09:14","modified_gmt":"2018-01-28T20:09:14","slug":"tally-ranels-reed-to-run-for-house-of-delegates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=3205","title":{"rendered":"Tally Ranels Reed to Run for House of Delegates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berkeley Springs businesswoman Tally Ranels Reed has tossed her hat into the ring to run for the open House of Delegates District 59 seat vacated by Saira Blair (R-Berkeley).<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3216\" style=\"width: 170px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3216\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3216\" src=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/reed-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/reed-1.jpg 160w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/reed-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3216\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tally Ranels Reed<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reed is co-founder of Reed&#8217;s Pharmacy along with her husband and Morgan County Commissioner Ken Reed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She is also the manager of a new restaurant in Berkeley Springs owned by the Reeds \u2013 The Canary Grill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2014, Ken Reed spent more than $500,000 of his own money on an unsuccessful bid in the Republican primary for U.S. Congress. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a seven way race, Ken Reed came in second place, garnering 7,848 votes (22 percent) to Congressman Alex Mooney\u2019s 12,678 votes (36 percent).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tally Ranels Reed is<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0running in the Republican primary against former Delegate Larry Kump who held the seat from 2010 to 2014. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kump was defeated by then 17-year-old Saira Blair in 2014 in the Republican primary. Kump garnered 729 votes (45 percent) to Blair\u2019s 875 votes (55 percent).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only Democrat in the May 8 primary is newcomer and <a href=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=3126\">recent West Virginia Law School graduate John Isner.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Berkeley Springs businesswoman Tally Ranels Reed has tossed her hat into the ring to run for the open House of Delegates District 59 seat vacated by Saira Blair (R-Berkeley).
