{"id":3099,"date":"2017-12-08T09:17:38","date_gmt":"2017-12-08T14:17:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=3099"},"modified":"2017-12-08T16:13:05","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T21:13:05","slug":"high-speed-chase-in-berkeley-springs-ends-in-arrest-in-virginia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=3099","title":{"rendered":"High Speed Chase in Berkeley Springs Ends in Arrest in Virginia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Morgan County man was arrested Wednesday in Fredrick County Virginia after he attempted to strike a Morgan County Deputy Sheriff and fled officers in southern Morgan County.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Garland W. Miller, 37, was arrested in Frederick County by Frederick County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies who were assisting Morgan County officers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The incident began when West Virginia State Police requested assistance on the fleeing driver heading south on US 522 in an older gray Jeep Cherokee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deputy Josh Lebo attempted to stop the fleeing driver on 522 near Eddie&#8217;s Tire Service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miller attempted to hit Lebo head on. \u00a0Lebo then began the pursuit and requested assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sheriff Bohrer, Chief Walter, Deputy Jenkins responded to assist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miller drove at excessive speeds, ran countless vehicles off the roadway and endangered the lives of many motorists. \u00a0He also passed in no passing zones and was clocked on radar at speeds greater than 100 mph.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sheriff Bohrer advised Lebo to discontinue the pursuit at the Virginia State Line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Officers requested assistance to locate the fleeing subject from Berkeley and Frederick County law enforcement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deputy Lebo located the vehicle in Frederick County. \u00a0Lebo detained the subject &#8212; a wanted felon &#8212; until Virginia offices arrived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miller was wanted on outstanding warrants from Frederick County, Virginia also.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deputy Lebo filed felony fleeing and eluding charges in West Virginia for Miller. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once filed they were sent to Virginia where he was arrested as a fugitive from justice from West Virginia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Morgan County man was arrested Wednesday in Fredrick County Virginia after he attempted to strike a Morgan County Deputy Sheriff and fled officers in southern Morgan County. \u00a0Garland W.
