{"id":2887,"date":"2017-06-13T12:40:21","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T16:40:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=2887"},"modified":"2017-06-13T12:40:31","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T16:40:31","slug":"just-say-no-to-the-pipeline-activists-on-the-agenda-at-shepherdstown-town-council-july-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=2887","title":{"rendered":"Just Say No to the Pipeline Activists on the Agenda at Shepherdstown Town Council July 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">West Virginia citizens seeking to defeat the Mountaineer Gas pipeline are calling on the Shepherdstown Town Council to reject the pipeline proposal that would cut through the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2626\" src=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/martin-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"martin\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/martin-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/martin-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/martin-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Eastern Panhandle Protectors are on the agenda for the town council\u2019s July 11 meeting and will urge the council to come out publicly against the pipeline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are calling on the Town Council to reject this pipeline,\u201d said Tracy Cannon, an organizer with Eastern Panhandle Protectors. \u201cThe gas company has used bullying tactics to secure to land needed to build the pipeline. The gas would come from hydraulic fracturing, which is harmful to the people&#8217;s health and the environment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cannon urged all of those concerned about the adverse impacts of the pipeline on the community to attend the meeting July 11 at 6:30 pm at Shepherdstown Town Hall, 104 S King St, Shepherdstown, West Virginia 25443.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>West Virginia citizens seeking to defeat the Mountaineer Gas pipeline are calling on the Shepherdstown Town Council to reject the pipeline proposal that would cut through the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.
