<\/p>\nA team of belly dancers will perform on the streets of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia on Saturday May 13, 2017 as part of Shimmy Mob and World Belly Dance Day.<\/p>\n

Shimmy Mob is an international dance event that includes over 2,100 dancers in 172 cities around the globe. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The objective of the event is to raise funds and awareness for domestic abuse survivors.<\/span><\/p>\n The Berkeley Springs Shimmy Mob team is led by Bellysima Bellydance instructor Angela Petry.<\/span><\/p>\n The Shimmy Mob team will perform on May 13 at the following times and locations: \u00a012:30 at the Master Gardeners Plant Fair in Berkeley Springs State Park, 1:30 at Give Purrs a Chance, 2:30 at the Morgan County Courthouse, and at 3:30 at the Black Cat Music Shop.<\/span><\/p>\n This is the fifth year in a row that the team has participated in the charity dance event.<\/span><\/p>\n A new addition to this year\u2019s event is the Tri-State Ukeclectic Orchestra. <\/span><\/p>\n The orchestra will be joining the dance team at the 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 performances, as well as playing at venues around the town in between.<\/span><\/p>\n Tri-State Ukeclectic Orchestra<\/p><\/div>\n The dancers are raising funds for Stepping Stones to a Brighter Future, a local non-profit that provides financial, emotional and life skills assistance to survivors of domestic violence.<\/p>\n The group has been practicing their routine for weeks and will appear in the signature Shimmy Mob T-Shirt, the color of which remains a surprise until May 13.<\/span><\/p>\n Over the past four years, the team has raised over $10,000 in individual and business sponsorships.
