They\u2019ve totally renovated it and on Friday opened Circa 33.<\/p>\n<p>By May 1 they plan on being open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are now open 11 to 9.<\/p>\n<p>The prices are reasonable and the menu includes sandwiches &#8212; including Grilled Reuben ($7.25), Burger ($7.50) Grilled Ham and Cheese ($6.25), Cod Filet ($7.25)<\/p>\n<p>The entrees include Oven Roasted Chicken ($12.95), Ribeye Choice Cut Steak ($14.95), Seafood Pasta ($13.95) and a variety of salads. They sell wine and beer and hope to have their full liquor license by July 1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/33-two.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2212\" src=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/33-two-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"33 two\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/33-two-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/33-two.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Franklin and Science are renovating four rooms above the restaurant for a bed and breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>They hope to have live music on weekends.<\/p>\n<p>They called the place Circa 33 Public House because they originally thought the building was built in 1933, but in fact it was built in 1929, Franklin said. And 1933 was the year that prohibition was lifted.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin said it\u2019s called a public house because it\u2019s a house with rooms for rent and it\u2019s sort of like a tavern &#8212; it\u2019s got a bar that can seat ten.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin grew up south of Winchester, Virginia. He ended up in northern Virginia doing commercial truck sales, construction and real estate. Science owned a restaurant in Woodstock, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Science and Franklin had a weekend camp spot the other side of Morgantown they would go to on weekends. They would drive through Berkeley Springs to get there. They always wanted to open up a restaurant and fell in love with the building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe put everything we have into this place,\u201d Franklin said. \u201cWe intend to live here and we want to keep it open seven days a week.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Circa 33 Public House is now open in Berkeley Springs at the corner of Union Street and US 522.
