I think she works so hard because she wants my generation to stay in West Virginia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young Capito graduated from Duke University in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>And where does young Shelley end up working?<\/p>\n<p>In New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Where she worked to get Mayor Michael Bloomberg re-elected in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, the same Michael Bloomberg who is spending $50 million in<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mikebloomberg.com\/index.cfm?objectid=48E2BFF7-C29C-7CA2-F304E8E390F76209\"> a campaign to move the country \u201cbeyond coal.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg is part of the \u201cWar on Coal\u201d that Congresswoman Capito so vigorously attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The young Capito is now working for Bloomberg\u2019s 2009 campaign manager Bradley Tusk at <a href=\"http:\/\/tuskstrategies.com\/index.cfm?objectid=209EEB10-07AC-11E0-B544000C296BA163\">Tusk Strategies<\/a> in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Tusk Strategies did not return a call seeking to determine whether the consulting firm has Bloomberg\u2019s Moving Beyond Coal Campaign as a client.<\/p>\n<p>Howard Swint, Capito\u2019s opponent in November\u2019s election, wonders whether Congresswoman Capito will attack Mayor Bloomberg\u2019s \u201cwar on coal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBloomberg\u2019s \u2018Moving Beyond Coal\u2019 campaign explicitly states that its goal is to \u2018end the coal era.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt begins with the goal of retiring \u2018one third of the nation\u2019s coal fleet by 2020\u2019 and cites \u201cpollution from coal plants has been linked to asthma attacks, toxic mercury, and more.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Congresswoman Capito characterizes the EPA as \u2018radical\u2019 for simply enforcing the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, what does she have to say about Bloomberg\u2019s campaign?\u201d Swint asks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs it okay for her daughter&#8217;s candidate to wage a \u2018war on coal\u2019?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Will Congresswoman Capito look the other way?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not that Swint disagrees with Bloomberg\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should retire all coal fired power plants that do not meet environmental regulations \u2013 all those that do not have scrubbers,\u201d Swint says. \u201cIf that turns out to be one third of the nation&#8217;s coal fleet, then so be it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil we live off the grid, we are part of the problem. But we can also be part of the solution. Solar and conservation are the North Stars for our nation&#8217;s energy solution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEventually, we have to move beyond all fossil fuels to renewables,\u201d Swint says. \u201cThat&#8217;s the long term goal of energy independence.
