The annual Walk Across Maryland will take place next month, Saturday morning, September 19 at 8 am.<\/span><\/p>\n And for the first time ever, there will also be a 5K Run Across Maryland.<\/span><\/p>\n Both the Walk Across Maryland and the 5K Run Across Maryland begin at the Pennsylvania\/Maryland border on Pennsylvania Avenue, in Hancock, Maryland. <\/span><\/p>\n Parking will available at the Hancock Assembly of God parking lot, and registration for the run will be there, as well.<\/span><\/p>\n The Walk Across Maryland and the new 5K Run Across Maryland are sponsored by River Bend Family Medicine, Buddy Lou\u2019s Eats Drinks and Antiques, and EcoLogix Group. <\/span><\/p>\n Beverages and snacks will be provided at Buddy Lou\u2019s to all participants afterwards.<\/span><\/p>\n The Walk Across Maryland and the 5K Run Across Maryland will be the first event of what should be a great day in Hancock. <\/span><\/p>\n September 19 is the day of the Canal Apple Festival, hosted by the Lions Club. <\/span><\/p>\n The annual Canal Apple Festival parade takes place at 11 am. Later in the day, Mia Z, who appeared on the TV show The Voice, will be appearing at Buddy Lou\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n Free tee shirts will be given to Walk Across Maryland participants. <\/span><\/p>\n Participation in the Walk Across Maryland is free. <\/span><\/p>\n Special race tee shirts will be available to runners in the 5K Run Across Maryland. <\/span><\/p>\n Registration will be necessary for the run, and participation will cost $20. <\/span><\/p>\n Medals will be awarded to top finishers of the 5K Run Across Maryland.<\/span><\/p>\n Registration forms are currently available at the River Bend Family Medicine office, but forms can also be downloaded from the River Bend Family Medicine web site.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Now you can brag that you either ran or walked across Maryland.
