<\/a><\/p>\nThe Commission has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday February 17, 2015 at 7 pm at the Morgan County Courthouse in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia to reconsider Dollar General\u2019s proposal.<\/p>\n
In a public notice, the Planning Commission has invited the public to \u201cparticipate in the meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe urge all citizens opposed to the Dollar General store to attend and participate in Tuesday\u2019s meeting,\u201d said Rita Donadieu, a spokesperson for the group organizing to oppose the Dollar General store.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a rural residential area,\u201d Donadieu said. \u201cThere already exist three dollar stores — \u00a0a Dollar General in Paw Paw, and a Dollar General and a Family Dollar in Berkeley Springs. We don\u2019t need a fourth.\u201d<\/p>\n
Donadieu said that the community opposed to the Dollar General is planning on printing yard signs with the message — Keep it Rural, No Dollar General.<\/p>\n
Last month, the Planning Commission postponed action on Dollar General\u2019s proposal after finding that Dollar General did not give proper notice to the community about the upcoming meeting.<\/p>\n
