And Independent Ed Rabel (WV-2) came across the Republican booth for Alex Mooney.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The staffers at the Mooney booth were Tom Kennedy, Dana Hudson and Alex Mooney\u2019s mother &#8212; Eulalia (Lala) Mooney.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Alex Mooney was not at the Founders Day Festival in Capon Bridge.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r93tPVueMSE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Lala Mooney was born in Cuba. Lala Mooney said she wanted to talk to Rabel \u201coff the record\u201d about Cuba. Rabel covered Cuba extensively during his award winning career at CBS and NBC News.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rabel asked Lala Mooney why her son wants to privatize social security.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hudson interjected and said \u201cthat\u2019s a question for the candidate to answer himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cPeople believe that (Social Security) is not going to be in existence without some sort of reform,\u201d Hudson said. \u201cIf you want it to be preserved at all, you have to look at some sort of reform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rabel asked if Alex Mooney was going to be at the festival.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cNo,\u201d Hudson said. \u201cWe are here as his surrogates. And his mother is the best volunteer, the best spokesman we have.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Lala Mooney told Rabel she wanted to talk about Cuba &#8212; \u201cif you want to talk privately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rabel pointed out that in Cuba, \u201ceducation is free and so is health care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWouldn\u2019t your son like to embrace the idea of free health care here?\u201d Rabel asked.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At this point, Kennedy interjected &#8212; \u201cthat\u2019s what Marxists do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMarxists do that,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cCommunists do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThey give you Medicare,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Medicare is Communist?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMedicare is a socialist program,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Would you get rid of the socialist Medicare program?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI didn\u2019t say that,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cDon\u2019t put words in people\u2019s mouths.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSocial Security,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cThe word \u2018social\u2019 is in \u201cSocial Security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Would you get rid of the socialist program of Medicare?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cNo,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Why not?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBecause it\u2019s already established,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Socialist programs that are established are okay?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cYou can\u2019t undo them,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cPeople established their lives around them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBut you can certainly reform them,\u201d Hudson said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Would Kennedy privatize Social Security?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThat might be the solution,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cYou would have to study it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rabel asked Lala Mooney if her son supported the idea of repealing Obamacare.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAbsolutely,\u201d Kennedy interjected. \u201cIf something is really, really bad, and is damaging the fabric of the country, you can go ahead and try to keep it together. But the thing is going to collapse. There is no doubt about it. It is going to collapse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThat\u2019s odd,\u201d Rabel said. \u201cHere is West Virginia about 126,000 West Virginians have benefited from Medicaid &#8212; \u201c<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThey benefit today,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cAnd they benefit tomorrow. But when the bubble busts &#8211; -and it is coming &#8212; when these programs keep piling on and piling on until finally there is no strength in the legs left to hold it and the thing collapses, because you didn\u2019t do it right in the first place, these people are going to suffer terribly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">One way to do it right is to get rid of the insurance companies. Obamacare was written by the insurance companies. Why not just get rid of the insurance companies and have a single payer system &#8212; Medicare for all?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThat is what a Marxist and a Communist would do,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cLet the state come in and manage the complete and total control of all things that I need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cTom you are fat,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m not going to let you eat these foods anymore. You are going to cost me money. And I can\u2019t afford you. Rahm Emanuel\u2019s brother just said &#8212; when I\u2019m 75, I need to go away. That\u2019s what Communists and Marxists do. That\u2019s what Cuba did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At this point, Hudson interjects and say &#8212; \u201cIf you want to debate further, we\u2019ll refer you to the proper people with the campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAre you pushing us away?\u201d Rabel asked<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI\u2019m saying that we are done with the camera,\u201d Hudson said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cJust cut off the camera?\u201d Rabel asked.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cYes sir,\u201d Hudson said. \u201cYou are welcome to ask Alex for a debate. We will pass that along.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHe didn\u2019t show up for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wvgazette.com\/article\/20140925\/GZ01\/140929505\">editorial board meeting at the Charleston Gazette<\/a>,\u201d Rabel pointed out.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Why didn\u2019t he show?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSir, we are done speaking with you,\u201d Hudson said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was the Founders Day Festival in Capon Bridge, West Virginia.
