{"id":1079,"date":"2014-06-17T14:38:36","date_gmt":"2014-06-17T18:38:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=1079"},"modified":"2014-06-17T14:38:36","modified_gmt":"2014-06-17T18:38:36","slug":"frontier-internet-knocked-out-for-20-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=1079","title":{"rendered":"Frontier Internet Knocked Out for 20 Hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">More than 4,000 Frontier Communications customers in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia lost their internet service for more than 20 hours yesterday and today.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Service was knocked out at about 2:30 pm yesterday until about 1 pm today.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/frontier.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1080\" title=\"frontier\" src=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/frontier-300x143.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Frontier spokesman Dan Page said that a fiber cut yesterday afternoon \u201ccreated some difficulty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But there was also a simultaneous router software problem at Frontier\u2019s Martinsburg office, Page said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Page said he had no information about how the fiber was cut, but \u201cusually it\u2019s a construction project, a traffic accident or a tree strike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAfter addressing the fiber cut, we realized there was an additional problem in the Martinsburg office &#8212; and then we updated the software within the router,\u201d Page said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe received calls from 200 to 300 customers,\u201d Page said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He estimated that the outage affected about 4,000 customers in the eastern panhandle.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about whether the 4,000 customers would get a refund, Page said he didn\u2019t know what the policy was and would get back with that information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 4,000 Frontier Communications customers in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia lost their internet service for more than 20 hours yesterday and today.
