{"id":1050,"date":"2014-06-03T07:32:30","date_gmt":"2014-06-03T11:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=1050"},"modified":"2014-06-03T07:32:30","modified_gmt":"2014-06-03T11:32:30","slug":"rocking-chairs-debuts-in-berkeley-springs-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/?p=1050","title":{"rendered":"Rocking Chairs Debuts in Berkeley Springs This Weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">People know Larry Springer as the director at the Morgan County Library.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">They know him as the trumpet player in a number of bands around town.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rocking.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1053\" title=\"rocking\" src=\"https:\/\/morgancountyusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/rocking-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">What they probably don\u2019t know about Larry Springer is that he is a playwright.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Some thirty years ago, Larry Springer wrote Rocking Chairs, a play about elderly people who feel trapped in a nursing home and are looking for escape.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">And this weekend, Rocking Chairs will make its debut as a staged reading at the Ice House in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The play is being produced and directed by Abbie Brown.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rocking Chairs stars Ron Tebben as the Colonel, Rick Vance as \u00a0MacIntosh, Jan Weinberg as Mary Ann, \u00a0Sharon Carpenter as the nurse, Tim Smailes as Martin, and Russell Mokhiber as the janitor.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">There will be three shows &#8212; Friday June 6 at 7:30 pm, Saturday June 7 at 7:30 pm and Sunday June 8 at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tickets are $5.00 at the door.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People know Larry Springer as the director at the Morgan County Library.
